While it's been around for a considerable amount of time, each year it has only got better and better. With small improvements year on year to the comfortable and absorbent steel frame the Croix De Fer is well up to date and still sits firmly in the throne as the king of comfortable versatility. As at home as a commuter as it is touring fully loaded in the hills, the Croix De Fer does an excellent job at nearly whatever it turns it's hand to. Commuting duties during the week then epic, multi-terrain adventures at the weekend, the Croix De Fer 20 is a capable and adaptable beast that rarely gets fazed whichever way you point it. Few bikes can boast so much versatility with so little compromise.
The heart of the bike remains a complete Reynolds 725 frameset. Delivering an exceptional ride quality through the compliance of the steel whist also providing a reliable frame that will endure for years of riding.
Updated with a super low off road gearing option by incorporating Shimano’s latest 11-speed full GRX groupset. The RX600 chainset drops the gearing down with 46/30T chainrings while retaining the 11-34T cassette, making the Croix more capable when the road – or trail – turns upward. GRX hydraulic brake callipers back up the off road story by providing consistent powerful braking allowing for maximum control whatever the terrain.
The frame has also been widened to increase tyre clearance, offering the ability to fit a chunky 45mm rear tyre and a 50mm front tyre on the provided 700c rims, increasing all-terrain ability and maximising on comfort. While optimised for 700c wheels the Croix De Fer does have the ability to run the small 650b option too.
Tubeless ready rims and tyres, flat mount disc brakes, a third bottle mount, rack and guard mounts and fixings for Anything Cages on the forks complete the package.

Every bike we sell is fully assembled and tested for safety by our trained mechanics. We then partly disassemble the bike and carefully re-pack to prepare for shipping.
Depending on the model, upon receipt you may be required to straighten and tighten the handlebars, reattach front wheel and attach the pedals. Please ensure that the pedals are greased and fitted correctly - the pedals will be marked L and R and have to be fitted to the left and right cranks respectively. Pedal do not come with every bike and need to be bough separately, especially on more high-end models. Please check when you are ordering.
There is a guide in the box telling you which tools you will need and the steps to follow. This will require some degree of mechanical skill to put together and can need some minor adjustments. The less confident you are in this field the more we'd recommend having it checked over by a professional mechanic.
