While it's been around for a considerable amount of time, each year it has only got better and better. With small improvements year on year to the comfortable and absorbent steel frame the Croix De Fer is well up to date and still sits firmly in the throne as the king of comfortable versatility. As at home as a commuter as it is touring fully loaded in the hills, the Croix De Fer does an excellent job at nearly whatever it turns it's hand to. Commuting duties during the week then epic, multi-terrain adventures at the weekend, the Croix De Fer 20 is a capable and adaptable beast that rarely gets fazed whichever way you point it. Few bikes can boast so much versatility with so little compromise.
The heart of the bike remains a complete Mjölnir Chromoly frameset. Delivering an exceptional ride quality through the compliance of the steel whist also providing a reliable frame that will endure for years of riding.
Major updates to the cornerstone of the Genesis range include the ability to run 42mm tyres on the provided 700c rims, or 47mm tyres on a 650B wheelset. Standard QR dropouts mean your 9mm wheelsets can keep turning for another few years – and the practicalities don’t end there. The drivetrain has been upgraded to Shimano’s great value Sora groupset, providing 18 gears of quality shifting across a capable range of gears the opens up the possibilities of gravel riding. Flat mount disc brakes, a third bottle mount, rack and guard mounts and fixings for Anything Cages on the forks complete the package.

Every bike we sell is fully assembled and tested for safety by our trained mechanics. We then partly disassemble the bike and carefully re-pack to prepare for shipping.
Depending on the model, upon receipt you may be required to straighten and tighten the handlebars, reattach front wheel and attach the pedals. Please ensure that the pedals are greased and fitted correctly - the pedals will be marked L and R and have to be fitted to the left and right cranks respectively. Pedal do not come with every bike and need to be bough separately, especially on more high-end models. Please check when you are ordering.
There is a guide in the box telling you which tools you will need and the steps to follow. This will require some degree of mechanical skill to put together and can need some minor adjustments. The less confident you are in this field the more we'd recommend having it checked over by a professional mechanic.
