We stock what we use ourselves, and what we are happy to stand behind when something goes wrong.

If you are kitting out a new bike, the short list is simple: a lock worth the bike it is protecting, front and rear lights, a track pump for home, and something to fix a puncture with. Mudguards follow quickly if you ride through the winter, which around here means most of the year.

We range a narrow selection rather than everything available, and what makes the shelf has earned its place: hardened locks that insurers actually recognise, lights bright enough for an unlit road, luggage that is genuinely waterproof rather than shower resistant, and cleaning products that will not strip bearing grease. Some of this is much easier to judge in person. Helmets in particular, because head shapes differ and a helmet that suits one person is uncomfortable on someone else with the same measurement. Come into the shop on Saltmarket and try a few on.

We fit what we sell. Mudguards, racks, computers and lights can all go on while you wait, and it is usually quicker than doing it at home with the wrong tools.
